To make ourselves a genuinely multi-channel retailer we are focusing on 3 areas:

  1. Growing our web presence to deliver a better web experience to our customers.
  2. Fully integrating our web operations with our stores.
  3. Continuing to invest in emerging digital and mobile channels.

Building a joined up multi channel offer

We've built a totally new global infrastructure to give us fully joined up operations to serve customers.

That means new ecommerce and community sites in 2011 for Gamestation and GAME in the UK, and new sites for our international businesses in 2012. These sites will be more than just retailers – they'll be community centres where customers can find information, post reviews and follow the activities in their local stores.

Stores are the heart of our strategy, because they remain the place where most people want to buy games.  But we're going to change things – how they operate, what kind of interactive technology we use and the kind of products we sell. We are innovating in all of these areas – using mobile technology in stores, selling digital content and more.

Digital and mobile channels will continue to grow as we demonstrate them to customers. We're investing in a number of R&D projects to gain a strong foothold in these markets. For example our Moonbase store on the online hub for the PS3 is now transactional and is selling digital content – the only retailer to have that position.
