Game returns to Sheffield
14/07/2003
GAME, Europe’s leading specialist retailer of video games and computer software is opening a new look store in Sheffield city centre on Friday 18th July, after a four year absence.
GAME has taken a 1,400 sq ft unit in the prime pedestrianised Fargate area, to add to its existing 338 UK & Eire store portfolio.
GAME’s focus on excellent customer service will be complemented by the existing new store design, which makes it easier for the customer to quickly identify the products they are looking for. Constantly updated point-of-sale material, combined with energetic and knowledgeable staff add to the in-store experience.
For the first weekend the store will be running a selection of opening offers to entice customers, such as 20% off chart software titles and free Reward cards. Also during the first weekend press ads will be placed in the local press, and leaflet distribution detailing the offers will take place near the store and tram station nearby.
Stephen Boyce, Property Director said “The Company and indeed the team at the Sheffield store are very excited by the opening of this new store. We are now in a position where we can serve two different types of customers; the city centre customers with limited spare time, as well as our broader customer catchment, served by our Meadowhall stores.
“Due to the opening of this store, we are also creating up to 10 jobs in the area, with the possibility of creating almost as many again, in the form of part time positions in the run up to the vital Christmas trading period.”
GAME in Sheffield opens on Friday 18th July 2003 at 9am.
