GAME Adds Some Fizz into E-Commerce in 2004

The first online instant redemption campaign is due to kick off on 27 January on www.game.uk.com, the online arm of GAME, the UK’s favourite games retailer.

Over 36 million Tango drinks* will give every consumer a £2 voucher off Sony PlayStation 2 games**, redeemable on the GAME website.

The on-pack promotion runs for eight weeks, on 2ltr and 500ml bottles, and on 330ml cans, on all flavours of Tango. Consumers simply text the code on the pack, and receive a text message back with voucher code. There are also over 40,000 prizes up for grabs.

The discount codes available on all bottles and cans are redeemed on www.game.uk.com, whilst in addition the 2ltr bottles also have vouchers printed on the sides, which can be redeemed in any of the 360+ GAME stores in the UK.

This first ‘text voucher’ promotion marks a significant investment for GAME, with the technology used to employ this promotion being developed by an in-house team, using Microsoft’s .NET product.

The campaign will receive investment from a £1m media campaign, including internet advertising and a variety of press, as well as TV advertising from Tango, starting on 1 March.

Our key demographics match perfectly with Tango drinkers, and therefore this tie-in meets our overall objective – getting the GAME brand out there to millions of new and existing customers.”

Marketing Director Anna Macario said “We have developed many ways to build relationships and communicate with key teenage and 18-25 audiences, using our store base, popular website and Reward Card database.”
